Heather Barnett - Biology, learning from nature
"Visual representation is an inherent part of who we are."
Heather Barnett is working in the intersection of art, science and technology, often in collaboration with scientists, artists, participants and organisms. At The Conference 2015 she demonstrated how we humans can observe, adapt and co-create with nature.
Building the underground railway of Tokyo took humans over hundred years, a slime mold managed to replicate it within less than 26 hours. Through her experiment with slime mold, Heather proves what incredible intelligence and ability to communicate these cute little creatures have. This opens up new ways of thinking about design, and this might just be the beginning.
